Are you talking about the TU2 Development Builds? If so, they are fairly buggy. All you can do is provide Admin with details about the problem.

Can you tell us your computer's specifications? Operating System, CPU, RAM, Graphics Processor, etc.

Can you tell us exactly what the message says?

Can you replicate the error?

When does it happen?

First off, welcome to the forums.

Regards TU2 not working for you, does it crash before showing anything at all?
Does it allow you to choose screen resolutions?

Also, if you look in your TU2 directory, does it have the following subdirectories?
BIN
DATA
FONTS
IMAGES
INTERFACE
MESH
SHADERS
SOUND
TEXTURES
TILES

Couple more questions;

is your rig dual-boot? Same result on XP and W7?
What's your default screen resolution and colour depth?
If you create a shortcut to TU2_GAME.exe and set it to run with admin rights, does that make a diff?

It's odd it crashes right off the bat. If it's unable to create the 3d scene, it should give an error message saying so.

Under device manager, what sound systems are listed?

However, I wonder if it's the initial border-less window that's causing it to fail - although it shouldn't on W7 for example.

I'm at work at the moment, but if you're agreeable, I'll sort out a small executable later that simply opens a 3d window and logs its progress.
