I'm tired so forgive my brashness.

Welcome to The Internet.

The magical world built upon lines of code.

A place where you don't know if you're talking to a bot unless they're trying to get you to watch their web-came show.

tl;dr - they're bots, not actual people. If they post something they're either a smart bot or an actual human with a bad taste for names.

Bots are getting through the registration process.
However the forums are still locked down in that new users don't have posting permission until manually given so.

However will need to lift that restriction at some point in the near future so a security upgrade's required, etc..

People ay?

You might want to make a thread on this so new users know to contact you..

Or even make it the title of a sub-forum of the main forum board..
Example sub-forum could be labeled "Please Contact me for posting permission's"
and in the sub-forum you could have a locked thread explaining why the forum is locked down an a contact address to gain posting permission's.

Just sayin' this because I spent a fair while bashing the monitor an swearing looking for a post button :D ... lol

I agree.
-but based on what i've read in previous topics, he's doing this because to prevent spam bots from posting spam on the forum.

Unfortunately the thread has nothing on the fact that you need to contact admin via e-mail to gain posting permission's

It's only a hint that the dev's is fighting a never ending battle against the tyranny of spam bots ...
And his last post in the thread say's that forum registration has been fixed but nothing on needing to poke him for posting permission's..

It does:

ADMIN wrote:Unfortunately the spam's getting worse.

I have an upgrade path for the forum mapped out, but until I have the spare hour or so to make it happen, I'll have to suspend new registrations to the forum.

If you wish to register, please send me an email and I'll set you up pronto.
In the meantime, existing members can still post as per normal.

Thanks
