Website registrations temporarily disabled

Postby ADMIN » Wed Apr 19, 2017 11:56 pm

Looks like bots - particularly since this year - were getting past the captcha and registering as new users.

They couldn't post but they were chewing through an enormous amount of http traffic and starting to cost me money.
(At least I think they're the culprit - there's no ftp shenanigans going on and user traffic can't account for it).

I hope no-one takes offence when I say the people who run/write bots need a sharp stick up the nether regions.

Will look at updating the anti-spam stuff again (although I'd rather be developing). :x

I say keep it closed and if someone new really wants their voice heard, they can use the Steam Community Hub for TU2. It's not like they've come over here anyway.
